This livejournal is a chronicle of my daily life. As such, it is "Friends Only." For those of you not familiar with the LJ system, this means that only people who have signed up for an account can be given access to my journal, and only those account holders whom I add as "friend" are given access. If you would like to read my journal, please leave a comment on a public entry, or email tabbyfoo @ gmail.com and tell me who you are, where you found my journal, and why you'd like to read it. If you don't, don't be surprised when I don't reflexively add you back. Adding strangers who haven't at least introduced themselves defeats the purpose of having my journal friends only. This is my journal, and I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

I am happily married to squidflakes (Ryan), a big geeky guy who is obsessed with all things ceph-related. I'm a stay-at-home mom to our kids, Korben and Sophie. We have an ever-changing menagerie of animals at home, including, but not limited to, dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, insects, children, and husbands.

I really enjoy spending most of my time at home with my kids. Before we had kids, I did dial-up tech support off and on for 7 years, so it's safe to say I'm pretty geeky. I have a love/hate relationship with Weight Watchers. They love to take my money, and I hate their program because I am weak. I occasionally list stuff on eBay as Tabbyfoo. I love to quilt and knit and scrapbook and... Ryan would say I have too many hobbies.

I've lived in only 3 places: Salt Lake City, Utah; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Houston, Texas, which is where I still live and have since 1999.

I taught music lessons for 10 years, but I recently have taken a hiatus from private instruction because both kids are in elementary school now, and I feel it is more important to be at home with them so they can participate in after-school activities like scouting (both boy and girl!) and have help with homework. The kids are very excited to have me home more often, but I do still have a job. In 2007, I became licensed as a Kindermusik Educator, and I began a great adventure. My business is called Kindermusik with Tabby and I teach music classes to youngsters from infants to 2nd grade. It is the best job in the world. I am so lucky!
