Well I closed the poll a little later than I expected thanks to a virus scare on my PC's (and having to run Spybot and install AVG and run scans of both...)

The result is a three way tie between Drusilla, Deflator and Fourthmeal.

The guild is supposed to be running some Warsong Gulch PvP action tonight, so hopefully there will be a good number of guild members on. I'll take the results of the three way tie to the guild members who are on tonight and see what they vote for as the tie-breaker.

A Michigan man plead guilty to driving the wrong way on an interstate and slamming his pickup truck into a minivan, killing a Maryland mother and four children who were returning home from a Christmas trip. The mother had many friends on the internet who still mourn the loss of her and her family.

I told kjaz yesterday, in response to a comment he made in my journal, how I always read his posts, without fail, however mundane he thinks they might be,. Honestly I do. He seems to be a faithful reader of mine too. Although if he and countless others, particularly of the gay persuasion, skip this one, I will understand completely.

Meanwhile my straight male readers will just roll their eyes, I know it. And I don't care. Because frankly I think hockey is one of the most boring things on earth. I say that with absolute authority, even though I know nothing about it. Even Meirion (emjaybaxter) who is a bit of a sports nut, doesn't watch it. And for that I am eternally grateful because I have to endure enough sports rubbish on the telly already.

So it may come as a surprise to all who know me that I bought a hockey jacket this week.

We were out for dinner with Jeannine at one of those huge Chinese buffet places, this one in Ajax, a vast suburb of Toronto, where honking great piles of shrimp and crab legs are the main draw. It was Jeannine's birthday treat.. Afterwards, with time on our hands, we surveyed the urban wasteland that is Ajax and there, through the clouds of traffic fumes, a Value Village beckoned. (For those who spend a lot of time under rocks, Value Village outlets are thrift stores offering new and "gently used" vintage clothing.) So, being vintage kinds of people, not to mention gently used, in we went.

To cut to the chase, Meirion bought three pretty sports jackets for $20. I bought this snazzy leather jacket with a spiffy - and sort of butch - hockey insignia on the chest, also for $20. It's a beauty, never even been used. I've no idea which Ice Dawgs team it celebrates - a google search reveals many out there - but who cares if it ups my butch quotient even one little notch. I'm tickled pink



I would talk more about hockey and its relationship with the gay community - I guess there is one if I searched - but honestly, I'm waaaaaay out of my depth here. Just because I have the jacket now doesn't make me an expert. Just a hockey daddy.

Anyway, for those who's eyes are glazing over at all this mention of sports - honestly, I don't blame you - here's something to perk you up. It features a hockey player with very few clothes on. (Got your attention yet?) One who is no stranger to video too. A little too wholesome for some here maybe, I know, but hey, any port in a storm.
